This is a giclée print of my original mixed media painting of The Empress; this is number III in my forthcoming Tarot project, the Sibylline Tarot.
The Empress is my personal emblem from the Tarot. Close to my heart as an artist and a feminist, I chose to make her at once earthy and transcendent, dark of skin and hair and radiant with the sun and the light of the heavens. It was my wish to evoke the beauty of my maternal Armenian ancestors in this portrait, and I hope you find her as resplendent and inspiring as I do.
